We are Los Angeles sister design duo, Morgana McNelis and Marina Milori. Our company's name comes from talks our grandfather gave about 'gilding the lily'. With six daughters and 11 granddaughters, his 'hothouse flowers', all being influenced by our luxury loving grandmother, he had to try. It didn't take, however, and all the girls love adorning ourselves with lovelies. After being weaned on Vogue Morgana modeled then studied fashion, art, and business. Classes in metalworking and lost wax decided it and she focused in on jewelry. Marina studied philosophy and art with an emphasis in ceramics and sculpture, and then was lured into the making of baubles by her little sister. We feel everyone is beautiful as they are but sometimes you need a little help to feel it. Everyone knows about the power of a 'sparkly' (jewelry) to make you feel amazing. We set out to design pieces that are unique, versatile and timeless. Our line is consciously crafted - with a percentage of profits being donated to environmental causes such as Heal the Ocean.org and Tree people. As reflected in our collection, we enjoy creative communion with nature and our intent is to give back to the world that so inspires us.
